Big Spring Park

Located in Downtown Huntsville, Big Spring Park is home to several events throughout the year. But even when there isn’t a big event happening, it is still a great place to visit on any given day. This park is actually what brought settlers to the area of Huntsville over 200 years ago. According to the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce, the red bridge and cherry blossom trees were given to the city by Japanese Major General Mikio Kimata as a thank you for the hospitality he received. The bridge and trees were formally adopted to the city in May of 1977. You can feed the friendly ducks, enjoy the walking paths or grab lunch somewhere nearby.
